In conjunction with Gordon Hall’s solo exhibition, THROUGH AND THROUGH AND THROUGH, and in collaboration with Container Corps, PICA will release OVER-BELIEFS: Gordon Hall Collected Writing, 2011-2018, an edited survey of the artist’s essays, interviews, and performance scripts from this formative stage of their career. The publication includes an introduction by the exhibition’s curators, Roya Amirsoleymani and Kristan Kennedy, and a reflection from Sarah Workneh, Co-Director of Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture. The book was edited by Spencer Byrne-Seres, PICA’s Exhibitions Director, with a cover design by Dante Carlos and book design and printing by Gary Robbins / Container Corps. Hall will give a reading of excerpts from the book and copies will be for sale to the public.

This event will be ASL-interpreted. For any other access needs or accommodation requests, please contact 503-242-1419 x18 or [email protected]

The book features writing by Alhena Katsof, Elizabeth Lamb, Lydia Adler Okrent, Elizabeth Atterbury, Meghan Brady, and Yuri Stone and a conversation between Gordon Hall and David J. Getsy.
