too

too follows the fragmented and dreamlike events of two dancers (Amy O’Neal and Ellie Sandstrom) who encounter 50 people in a series of meetings but manage to miss each other while environments and people constantly change. The duo's interaction with these strangers, friends, acquaintances, and family creates a cut-and-paste dance of physical extremes that draws inspiration from the rural vs. urban divide, America, karaoke, and Japanese love hotels.

too ruminates on the increasing challenges of human-to-human contact in a fractured and complex technological age. The product of two and a half years of filming duets across the US and Japan, too includes on-screen performances by Reggie Watts, Tommy Smith, Melanie Kloetzel, Kathleen Hermesdorf, David Dorfman, Shamou, Sarah Gamblin, Corrie Befort, and many more.

Amy O’Neal and Ellie Sandstrom have danced together in other people’s productions and in O’Neal’s own choreographic work for 10 years. O’Neal is a performer, choreographer, dance educator, the creator of Amyo/tinyrage, and the co-director of locust (music/dance/video) with musician/composer Zeke Keeble.
