Kye Alive

Kye Alive (Kye Grant Kauffman) is a Portland-based performer awkwardly approaching middle age whose work has been described as “Madonna meets Hey Arnold meets Michael Alig meets Grace Jones meets infinity.” Their practice traverses music, dance, vocal experimentation, and collaborative social art, and has taken the form of a pedestrian parade with 5th grade crossing guards; Planet Lloyd, a community newspaper about Lloyd Center Mall; open invitation dance ensemble Public Acts of Dance Company; genre-fluid performance party CLUB ALIVE; an Only Child Support group, and the ten year alien pop star persona Jennifer Vanilla. They have performed at MoMA PS1, Museum of Modern Art, Lincoln Center, and hundreds of other venues across the continents. Kye received an MFA in Art + Social Practice from PSU and recently debuted their existential fever dream solo show, TIMES SQUARE LAS VEGAS, to an audience of five at a Fringe Festival. Please send thoughts and prayers.
