FAQ on PICA's Move

FAQ: PICA Moving Announcement

What do I need to know?

  • After 10 incredible years, PICA is moving at the end of the month

  • We’re leaving the building, not the community. PICA is moving forward.

  • We are PICA. And we are bringing PICA with us to our new home too.

Has this happened before?

  • PICA has a long and rich history of moving and growing with our community. Those who have been around remember the days of our downtown location, the warehouse that is now The Redd, our time at Weiden + Kennedy and Bora Architecture, and, of course, our years at Washington High School. Now begins the next phase of PICA’s legacy, and we are very excited to build it with you.

What is next for PICA?

  • PICA's work continues!

  • Through the month of October, we have a series of events and hope to see you at all of them! Including Critical Conversation with Sophie Cavoulacos (October 15) and a BIG Moving Sale (October 17–19). Plus, our current exhibition, MORE by Trisha Baga, is on view until October 24, 2026.

  • Hang tight while we cross our t’s and dot our i’s on our future home. We can’t wait to celebrate with you at our new location!

  • We have a full lineup of programming scheduled for 2027, including upcoming Precipice Fund awardee announcements and a major exhibition in the spring.

Why is PICA moving?

  • The building has been sold, and PICA will be leaving at the end of October.

Where is PICA going?

  • Hang tight while we cross our t’s and dot our i’s on our future home. We can’t wait to celebrate with you at our new location!

Is PICA closing?

  • Absolutely not. We’re just moving.

How can I help?

  • Moving costs money. We need community support to help cover the costs of the move and build PICA’s next chapter. Please donate to keep PICA moving:

    • GIVE A STOCK TRANSFER OR DAF: You can email PICA Development Manager Samantha Ollstein at sam@pica.org for assistance.

    • DONATE BY PHONE: You can make your donation by calling Samantha Ollstein in our Development Department at (503) 242-1419.

  • BE WITH US: Come to the final events, lighten our load at our Moving Sale, support PICA’s programming, and stay with us for what’s next.
