Spend an evening with PICA’s Spring 2018 Creative Exchange Lab artists! Each artist-in-residence will share briefly about their work, including performance and visual artist Autumn Knight (Houston); visual artist Hector Remedios (Cuba); performance artist and writer Tim Smith-Stewart (Seattle); visual and multimedia artist Garima Thakur (Portland); dance artist Mariana Valencia (New York City); filmmaker Roland Dahwen Wu (Portland); and visual artist Ji Yang (Chicago/China). Following the talks, stay for drinks, food, and conversation.

This sixth edition of PICA’s Creative Exchange Lab continues the program’s commitment to promoting artistic exchange; cultivating creative research and process; and fostering the development of new work among artists across disciplines.

Launched in the spring of 2015, through funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, PICA’s Creative Exchange Lab is a residency program that promotes artistic exchange across disciplines, cultures, and geographies while fostering the development of new work. Reflecting a field-wide need for in-depth cross-disciplinary research opportunities for artists, the Lab offers essential generative time for research experimentation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and dialogue among the participating local, national, and international artists.
